Wildflowers Near Me
Wildflower season moves quickly, and what is blooming near you now will be gone in a fortnight. The map below plots recent, verified sightings of wild plants in your area, so you can see what is actually in flower rather than guessing from an average bloom calendar. Photograph anything you do not recognise and identify it on the spot.
Recent research-grade sightings from the iNaturalist community. The map starts near your approximate location - allow location access to centre it exactly on you.

Common questions
What wildflowers are blooming near me?
Bloom times shift by weeks depending on latitude, elevation and how the season has run, so recent local sightings are far more accurate than a printed bloom calendar. The map shows what other people have found in flower near you in the last few weeks.
How do I identify a wildflower?
Photograph the flower, and if you can, the leaves and stem too - they often settle an identification the flower alone cannot. Huck identifies wild plants from a photo and gives you habitat and seasonality for each species.
Is it OK to pick wildflowers?
Usually not, and in national and state parks it is illegal. Many wildflowers are pollinator food and some are protected or slow to recover. Photograph them and leave them where they are.
