Sweet Crabapple is a native small tree of eastern forest edges and open woods, producing fragrant pink and white flowers in May that are among the most beautiful of any native tree. Its small, tart yellow-green apples are eaten by white-tailed deer, cedar waxwings, grouse, and many other wildlife species. Dense thickets provide excellent nesting habitat.
