Terms of Service

Last updated: June 30, 2026

These terms govern your use of Huck, including the Huck website (huck-app.com), the Huck iOS app, and the Huck Premium subscription (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by ZP Makes, a sole proprietorship based in Pennsylvania, USA (“we,” “us”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

What Huck does

Huck helps you identify plants and animals from a photo, explore a map of recent wildlife sightings, and build a personal nature collection. Identifications and sighting data are provided for general interest and educational use.

Identifications are not guaranteed

Species identifications are automated estimates and can be wrong. Never rely on Huck to decide whether a plant, mushroom, or animal is safe to touch, eat, or handle. Do not forage, consume, or approach wildlife based on a Huck identification. Always consult a qualified expert before taking any action where a misidentification could cause harm. You use identifications at your own risk.

Accounts and access

Some features require you to verify an email address (for example, via a one-time sign-in link). You are responsible for keeping access to that email secure and for activity that occurs through your access. Let us know promptly if you believe your access has been compromised.

Huck Premium subscriptions

Huck Premium is a recurring subscription that unlocks unlimited identifications and premium features such as species search, filters, and sighting alerts. Plans are offered on a weekly or yearly basis at the prices shown at checkout.

Refunds are described in our Refund Policy.

Acceptable use

Please do not misuse the Service. In particular, do not attempt to scrape, bulk-download, resell, or reverse-engineer our content or APIs; interfere with or overload our infrastructure; or use the Service to break the law or infringe others' rights.

Content and intellectual property

Huck's name, artwork, species illustrations, written guides, and software are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may view and enjoy them for personal use through the Service, but you may not copy or redistribute them without permission. Wildlife sighting data is sourced from iNaturalist contributors, and map tiles are provided by Stadia Maps, Stamen Design, and OpenStreetMap contributors, each under their own terms.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that identifications, sighting data, or maps are accurate, complete, or available without interruption.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
