The Alaskan Mink represents the large northern subspecies of the American Mink found in riparian and coastal habitats throughout Alaska. It is one of the largest subspecies and has relatively dense, dark fur suited to cold northern climates. Alaskan mink regularly exploit coastal marine habitats, foraging in kelp beds and tidal flats for fish and invertebrates.
