Allen's Chipmunk is a large, richly colored chipmunk of mature conifer forests in the mountains of northern California, western Oregon, and Nevada. It is one of the least-studied western chipmunks, associated with old-growth and mature forests with complex understory. Its large size and vivid stripes make it one of the more conspicuous of the western chipmunks.
