Safety note: May carry rabies — do not approach or handle.

The Evening Bat is a small, plain brown bat of the southeastern United States that forms large maternity colonies in tree hollows and under loose bark rather than in buildings or caves. Females give birth to twins and are devoted mothers that can identify their own pups by voice in a noisy colony. It is a strong migrant that moves south in autumn to warmer wintering areas.
