The Fisher is a large, dark mustelid and one of the few predators that successfully preys on porcupines, attacking the face where there are no quills. Despite its name, it rarely eats fish and prefers forest-floor hunting to aquatic pursuits. Fishers can rotate their hind feet nearly 180 degrees, allowing them to descend trees head-first like a squirrel.
