Safety note: May carry rabies — do not approach or handle.

The Yuma Myotis is one of the most abundant bats in the American West, forming large maternity colonies of thousands in buildings and under bridges near water. It forages very close to the water surface, using its echolocation to detect tiny ripples created by emerging aquatic insects. The Yuma Myotis is a key consumer of aquatic insects emerging from western rivers.
