The Lodgepole Chipmunk is a mid-elevation Sierra Nevada chipmunk strongly associated with lodgepole pine forest, where it forages for pine seeds and fungi. It has bold, crisp stripes and bright reddish-orange sides. Lodgepole chipmunks are among the most studied chipmunks in California due to their accessibility and abundance in popular camping areas.
