The Clymene Dolphin is the only known cetacean hybrid species, having originated from hybridization between spinner dolphins and striped dolphins. It is found only in the tropical and warm-temperate Atlantic and is regularly encountered off the southeastern United States and in the Gulf of Mexico. It performs barrel-roll spins similar to spinner dolphins and has a distinctive three-part flank coloration.
