Commerson's Dolphin is a strikingly patterned black-and-white dolphin of sub-Antarctic waters off southern South America, occasionally recorded in waters approaching the southern cone of North America. It is one of the smallest cetaceans in the world, rarely exceeding 5 feet. The Kerguelen Islands population is genetically distinct from the South American mainland population.
