The Coast Mole is a medium-sized mole of the Pacific Coast from southern British Columbia through Oregon and northern California, found in forests and grasslands with moist, deep soils. Its range overlaps with Townsend's mole in some areas, but the coast mole is typically found in more montane or forested habitats. It creates prominent surface mounds when constructing deep tunnels.
