The Central American Squirrel Monkey is a small, social primate of Costa Rica and Panama that is listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN. It lives in large, noisy groups of up to 70 individuals that travel through forest canopy in search of insects and fruit. This species barely enters the North American continent as defined by the southern boundary of Costa Rica.
