The Chiapan Deer Mouse is a large, long-snouted Peromyscus restricted to the highlands of Chiapas and adjacent Guatemala. Its long rostrum—reflected in its species name—distinguishes it from other Peromyscus in the region. It inhabits cool montane forests at elevations above 1,500 meters.
