Wild Red Raspberry is a native or naturalized shrub with arching, bristly canes that grows in disturbed areas, old fields, and forest edges across much of North America. Its sweet red berries in July are consumed by an enormous range of wildlife and humans. It is one of the most important food sources for black bears fattening for winter dormancy.
