Sumichrast's Harvest Mouse is a high-elevation harvest mouse of the mountains of Mexico and Central America, associated with grassy areas and forest edges above 1,500 meters. Its grooved upper incisors identify it as a harvest mouse. Like other members of its genus, it builds small, spherical nests woven from grass near the ground.
