The Southwestern Myotis is a medium-sized bat with long ears and a medium-length ear tragus, found in the mountain sky islands of Arizona, New Mexico, and Mexico. It roosts in mine tunnels and caves in mountain forests and forages over streams and forest clearings for flying insects. Its taxonomy overlaps with the Arizona myotis and has been subject to ongoing revision.
