Illustration of Golden-winged Warbler (Vermivora chrysoptera)

The Golden-winged Warbler is a striking bird with a yellow crown, yellow wing patch, and bold black mask and throat, but its populations are declining steeply due to habitat loss and hybridization with the expanding Blue-winged Warbler. It is a priority conservation species across its range. Its buzzy song is similar to the Blue-winged Warbler's.
