Illustration of Le Conte's Thrasher (Toxostoma lecontei)

Le Conte's Thrasher is the palest thrasher, a sandy-white bird of the most extreme, open desert — sandy washes and salt flats of the Mojave and Sonoran Deserts. It is more terrestrial than most thrashers, running across open desert ground and rarely flying. Its pale, unmarked underparts are highly cryptic.
