The Greater Round-eared Bat is a large phyllostomid bat with round ears and large eyes adapted for nocturnal hunting of insects and small vertebrates by passive listening. It inhabits tropical forests from Mexico through South America, roosting in hollow trees and rocky crevices. Its large eyes suggest significant reliance on vision in addition to echolocation.
