The Garganey is a small Old World dabbling duck that breeds across Eurasia and migrates to Africa. It appears rarely in North America, mostly in Alaska and along the Atlantic Coast. The male's broad white supercilium arching over the brown head is distinctive. It is the only duck that is entirely migratory in Europe.
