Safety note: May carry rabies — do not approach or handle.

The Black-winged Little Yellow Bat is a small, bright yellow bat with black wing membranes that is commonly encountered in tropical forests of Mexico and Central America. It roosts in rolled leaves and banana fronds and is one of the few bats that constructs its own simple roosting shelter by chewing the midrib of a large leaf to create a tent. It belongs to a uniquely North American bat genus.
