The Plains Harvest Mouse is a small, pale harvest mouse of shortgrass and mixed-grass prairies of the central Great Plains. It builds small globular grass nests in dense vegetation and is among the most common small rodents in prairie ecosystems. Its grooved incisors and tiny body size make it easily distinguished from Peromyscus mice.
