The Pygmy Raccoon is a critically endangered raccoon found only on Cozumel Island off the Yucatan coast of Mexico. It is significantly smaller than the mainland raccoon, a common island dwarfism pattern. With fewer than 500 individuals estimated, it faces threats from feral cats, dogs, and hurricane-driven habitat damage.
