The Cozumel Raccoon is a critically endangered island dwarf raccoon restricted to Cozumel Island, Mexico, weighing only 3–4 kg compared to mainland raccoons. Feral dogs and cats pose extreme predation threats to the small remaining population, and its forest habitat continues to be degraded by tourism development. Genetic analysis confirms it as a long-isolated distinct species.
