The Naked-footed Deer Mouse is a Central American Peromyscus found in the highland forests of Costa Rica and western Panama. It has unusually large hind feet with sparse hair cover—the feature reflected in its name. As one of the southernmost Peromyscus species, its taxonomy has been revised multiple times as genetic tools have improved.
