The Hentz Orbweaver is a robust, reddish-brown orb weaver with a complex abdominal pattern that varies from orange-red to dark brown. It is strictly nocturnal, building a large orb web at night and retreating to a leaf retreat during the day. It is one of the most commonly encountered orb weavers in the eastern United States in late summer and fall.
