The Diminutive Woodrat is a small, pale woodrat known only from the high Sierra Madre Occidental of Mexico, found in rocky habitats at elevations above 2,000 meters. It was only described to science in 1897 and remains poorly known. Its small size and rocky mountain habitat distinguish it from other Mexican woodrats.
