The White-nosed Coati is a social, diurnal member of the raccoon family that forages in bands of a dozen or more females and young, using their long, flexible snouts to root through leaf litter for invertebrates. Males are solitary except during the breeding season and are noticeably larger than females. Coatis range from the southwestern United States through Central America.
