The Brown Four-eyed Opossum is a terrestrial marsupial of tropical lowland forests that lacks a pouch, carrying its young clinging to the mother's belly. It has yellowish eye-spots above each eye similar to the gray four-eyed opossum and is active primarily on the forest floor. It ranges from Mexico through South America.
