The Bryde's Whale is a tropical and warm-temperate rorqual that, unlike most baleen whales, does not undertake long seasonal migrations and remains year-round in warm offshore waters. It is distinguished from the similar sei whale by three prominent ridges on its rostrum rather than one. A Gulf of Mexico population is listed as Critically Endangered with fewer than 50 individuals remaining.
