The Mexican Bobcat is the southernmost subspecies of bobcat, found throughout most of Mexico and into Central America. It is generally similar to its North American relatives but adapted to more tropical habitats, tolerating dense tropical dry forests and coffee plantations. Once listed under CITES for precautionary reasons, it has since been removed as the species is not considered at risk.
