Cylindrical Blazing Star is a small but showy native wildflower of dry, rocky, and sandy prairies and glades in the Great Lakes region and Midwest. Its short stature and drought tolerance allow it to persist in some of the most inhospitable prairie habitats. Like other blazing stars, it is an important late-season nectar plant for native bees and migrating monarchs.
