The Antelope Jackrabbit is among the largest jackrabbits in North America, with enormous ears that may span nine inches, acting as radiators to dissipate desert heat. As it runs, it exposes bright white flanks as a signal to other jackrabbits—a visual alarm system. It is restricted to the Sonoran Desert of Arizona and Mexico.
