Pacific Bleeding Heart is a native wildflower of moist Pacific Northwest forest floors, spreading by rhizomes to form lush colonies of deeply divided foliage and drooping clusters of pink heart-shaped flowers. It blooms from March through August, providing nectar for hummingbirds and bumblebees. It is more robust and longer-blooming than its eastern relative Dutchman's breeches.
