Pacific Madrone is one of North America's most striking trees, with smooth, peeling reddish-orange bark that makes it instantly recognizable along the Pacific Coast. It is an evergreen broadleaf tree that thrives on rocky, well-drained slopes from British Columbia to Baja California. Its white urn-shaped flowers attract bees and hummingbirds, and its red berries feed many birds.
