The Streaked Tussock Moth is a medium-sized moth with white, brown-streaked forewings that provide excellent camouflage against bark. Its caterpillar is a tussock moth larva bearing dense bundles of red, yellow, and white hair that makes it one of the most striking caterpillars of northeastern forests. The hair can cause mild skin irritation.
