The Arrowhead Spiketail is a large, impressive dragonfly with bold yellow arrowhead markings on a black abdomen. Females have a long, spike-like ovipositor used to drill eggs into stream sediments. It patrols long stretches of shaded woodland streams and springs, flying low and slow along the water's edge.
