The Asian Tiger Mosquito is an invasive species from Asia now widespread in the eastern United States, identifiable by bold black-and-white striped legs and a single white stripe down its thorax. Unlike most mosquitoes, it bites aggressively during the day. It can vector dengue, chikungunya, and Zika viruses and breeds in tiny amounts of standing water.

Suburban areas, gardens, and anywhere small containers hold water
Diet
Females: blood of mammals and birds. Males: plant nectar. Larvae: organic matter in water
