Safety note: Venomous sting — seek medical attention if stung; dangerous to children.

The Arizona Bark Scorpion is the most venomous scorpion in North America and the only one considered potentially deadly, particularly to children and those with allergies. Slender and pale tan, it is exceptional among scorpions in its ability to climb walls and hide in shoes and clothing. Antivenin is available and fatalities are rare with modern treatment, but its sting causes intense pain, numbness, and muscle spasms.
