The Black-shouldered Opossum is a rare arboreal marsupial with distinctive black shoulder patches, found from Peru to Panama, just reaching the southern edge of North America. It has a prehensile tail and large eyes for nocturnal canopy foraging. Very little is known about this species due to its rarity and forest canopy lifestyle.
