The Red-throated Pipit is an Old World pipit that breeds in Siberia and regularly migrates through western Alaska, occasionally appearing along the Pacific Coast. In breeding plumage the brick-red face and breast are distinctive. Its sharp 'spee-ur' call given in flight is the most reliable identification cue during migration.
