Noble Fir is the largest true fir in the world by height, reaching over 250 feet in the Cascades and Olympics. Its large, upright cones are dramatically beautiful, with prominently exserted bracts. It is grown extensively for Christmas tree production. Its seeds are eaten by crossbills and squirrels, and old-growth trees provide nesting habitat for spotted owls.
