The Pine Zale is a large, beautiful noctuid with mottled gray, brown, and white wings patterned with fine lunule markings. It is one of the most frequently encountered large moths at lights in pine-associated forests. The caterpillar feeds on pine needles and is difficult to spot due to its excellent cryptic coloration.
