The Pallid-winged Grasshopper is a common, pale, cryptically colored grasshopper of arid western habitats with nearly translucent hindwings and a body that perfectly matches sandy and gravelly ground. Males produce a distinctive buzzing crackle (crepitation) during flight. It is extremely common along sandy roadsides in the Southwest.
