The Long-jawed Orb Weaver is a slender, elongated spider with extremely long chelicerae (jaws) in both sexes. When disturbed it stretches out along plant stems with its front legs extended forward and rear legs back, becoming nearly invisible. It builds horizontal orb webs low over water and is nearly always found near wetlands.
