The White-crowned Pigeon is a large, dark pigeon of tropical hardwood forests and mangroves found mainly in the Florida Keys. It commutes long distances daily to forage on tropical fruits. The gleaming white crown contrasting with the dark body is diagnostic. It is a major seed disperser for tropical trees in the Caribbean.
