Partridgeberry is a tiny, mat-forming evergreen vine of eastern forest floors, producing paired white tubular flowers and bright red berries. Each berry is formed from two fused flowers, and both flowers must be pollinated for the berry to develop. The berries persist through winter and are eaten by grouse, wild turkeys, and other wildlife.
