Fringed Loosestrife is a native yellow-flowered wildflower of moist woodland edges and stream banks across North America, growing 2–4 feet tall with pairs of opposite leaves and nodding, five-petaled yellow flowers with fringed edges. This native loosestrife should not be confused with the highly invasive Purple Loosestrife. It is a host plant for a remarkable specialist bee — the Loosestrife Cellophane Bee — that lines its nest cells with loosestrife petal secretions.

Habitat
Found in moist to wet woodland edges, stream banks, and disturbed moist areas across North America.
Diet
Host plant for specialist Loosestrife Cellophane Bee; provides nectar for other native bees.
