The Wild Cherry Silk Moth is a day-flying silkmoth of the West, with vivid pink and black hindwings and gray-and-black banded forewings. Like all Hemileuca, larvae bear stinging spines and adults do not feed. The spectacular, conspicuous adults fly in late summer through fall in mountain meadows of western North America.
